This walk in Aveyron takes you to the best-known limestone plateau, Le Larzac. To the south of the Grands Causses Regional Nature Park, it is famous for its vast desert landscapes roamed by ewes during the summer grazing season. A real paradox, despite its harshness, Larzac is home to dynamic communities where farmers, craftsmen and producers have been proudly displaying their know-how for centuries.
Picturesque and authentic, this tour will take you back into the history of the Knights Templar and Knights Hospitaller as you explore the fortified towns of the 12th century, where every stone bears witness to the riches of the past.
Finally, after discovering this very mineral landscape, we'll take you to the Gorge de la Dourbie. Wild, natural and incredibly well-preserved, the Dourbie river and its fresh white waters will be your guiding light towards the end of the trip.
Embark on a loop with no organisational constraints, punctuated by our suggestions for 8 visits over a journey of around 110 km.
